Types of Machines & Grades of MS and SS Steel Rahil Engineering and fabricators have

  • CNC Machine: CNC plate cutting machines adopt a CNC control system. The accumulator returns more smoothly and quickly. CNC controls the length, width, thickness, and angle of cutting.

  • Laser cutting Machine: As Rahil Engineering & Fabrication have highly technology machinery which includes Laser cutting machine. Laser cutting machines are tools that use a high-powered laser beam to cut or etch designs into materials like metal and steel.

  • Lathes Machine: The lathe is one of the oldest machining tools, with its origins dating back to ancient Egypt. A lathe is a machining tool that rotates the workpiece on its axis to perform various operations such as cutting, drilling, or deformation, using tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object with symmetry about an axis of rotation.

  • Plasma cutter: Plant has introduces in plant in their first machine in 2010 as a result of welding, as a method to cut metals with improved precision and speed. It was used more due to its ability to generate a cleaner edge. Frequently used in metal fabrication, automotive repair, and industrial construction, plasma cutting, excels at cutting through electrically conductive materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass.

  • MILD STEEL (MS)

Mild Steel (MS), also known as low carbon steel, is one of the most common types of steel due to its versatility, affordability, and good mechanical properties. It typically contains 0.05% to 0.25% carbon by weight, which makes it more ductile, malleable, and easier to weld and machine compared to high carbon steels.

Carbon Steel (Mild Steel): 0.05% - 0.25% carbon. This is the most common category.

Medium Carbon Steel: 0.3% - 0.6% carbon. Stronger and harder than mild steel.

High Carbon Steel: 0.6% - 1.0% carbon (and sometimes up to 1.5%). Very strong and hard, but less ductile and more difficult to weld. Used for tools, springs, and highstrength wires.

  • Grades The AISI system uses a four-digit number to designate steel grades. For carbon steels, the 10xx series is used, where the last two digits indicate the approximate carbon content in hundredths of a percent.

AISI 1018: A common grade with good machinability and is often used for bolts, screws, shafts, and carburized parts.

S235: A common structural grade used in buildings, bridges, and general construction. The "JR" designation (e.g., S235JR) indicates it has been tested at room temperature with a minimum impact energy.

S275: A slightly stronger structural grade used for more demanding applications.

S355: A high-strength, low-alloy structural steel used in heavy machinery, cranes, and offshore structures.

  • Stainless Steel (SS)

    1.Austenitic Stainless Steels

    304

    Uses: Storage tanks

Why: Excellent corrosion resistance and easy fabrication.

    316

    Uses: chemical tanks, heat exchangers

    Why: Superior resistance to chlorides

    2. Ferritic Stainless Steels

    446

    Uses: Furnace parts, heat exchangers

Why: Excellent oxidation resistance at very high temperatures.
